Friday Fun Day: Working at the Carwash.

My kids have an incredible knack for turning the most innocent of activities into criminal activity. Who'd have thunk that a bucket of soapy water and rags and the clear, explicit instructions to "ONLY WASH THE VEHICLES...NOT ONE ANOTHER" would have turned into a shameful water fight. But they were having fun and weren't destroying anything so...ah, whatever. Who am I to stand in the way of good clean fun.... I think his shirt expresses Tyler's sentiments EXACTLY during the whole ordeal!

Tyler's Birthday and 4th of July

Yeah, yeah, I know...it's old news, but my camera takes so long to load to blogger that it's pure torture to find enough time to post a picture heavy item. But, finally, here's the few pics I got from the holiday weekend.

I think it's obvious how he feels about cake....Two of my SweetiesDa Man!He looks as if he might have some sinister plot rolling around in his head...either that or he knows something we don't.You know you're the parent of many children when you catch your baby doing something very dangerous but instead of flipping out you run to find the camera because you think "That would make such a great picture." LOLI'm not sure what this look was for...but he's cute no matter what face he has on.Sweet Girl....

Doesn't this game look fabulously dangerous and totally age IN appropriate LOL I want to build one for myself.

Have a blessed day!

Happy First Birthday!

One Year ago today...Tyler Edward made it safely into the big world a happy , healthy little boy! Been thinking today on those months I carried him facing uncertain and , truthfully, scary moments. Getting through 7 months of a grim prognosis, the daily threat on his little life that my body placed on him, the weekly 8 hour treatments to give him a fighting chance, the moments of panic, the testing...all a testimony to the Bigness of my God and his provision and love and grace and strength! Those days are a fading memory as they have been replaced with daily life with my kiddos. But as Jack is my reminder of God's foreknowledge and his inclination towards performing miracles...Tyler will always be a reminder of how much God cares for me and how even in dark, troubled times he's behind the scenes working things out. Looking back at where I was a year ago today I can see some of what God wanted to accomplish through my situation. I was able to share HIS grace and what HE had done for me with countless doctors and nurses and people in waiting rooms and maybe God has used those times to touch someone's life for the better...I like to think so. See, God can use the good, but when things are good we don't see things clearly. God does his best work in the dark times...when all self reliance is stripped away and aside from God there seems to be no hope, nothing to look toward. It's been my experience that those times are the closest I have been to God. So Happy Birthday to Tyler and lots of thanks and praise to God for what he did for me and my family during that rough time.

Off and Walking...

After only two weeks of crawling and getting into everything...Tyler just stood up about 30 minutes ago and took off down the hallway! We are all so excited...for now...give me a week and I'll be wishing he was crawling again...

A New (Used) Schoolroom....

I have ALWAYS wanted a schoolroom. Nothing fancy, just a space that was neat and tidy that I could set aside solely for the purpose of educating my kids. However...space has always been an issue...we live in a three bedroom double wide and with all the beds and the clothes and the toys...well, there just never has been the room.
But we figured Tyler doesn't need a bed for awhile so we broke down one of the beds and so Jack's room is half schoolroom.
Now, ideally, my dream schoolroom would be large and fairly sparse and would have tables and little sofas and books galore and a killer paint job and etc. etc...etc...
But I also have come to realize recently that God is pleased when we do with what we have and when we are satisfied with HIS provisions. I don't have alot of money to just buy whatever whenever and it IS easy for me to get my eyes on what God has given others and not focus on making something with what HE's given.

I HAVE to thank my momma who brought over some things from her house that she didn't need. Some nice chest of drawers, filing cabinets, table and stools for the kids. And she spent all day yesterday helping me clean and get organized...so here's the final outcome of my room...now I would like to get more posters and the Dollar Tree here has a ton of them, so I will pick some up...but it's mostly done and we REALLY enjoyed using it this morning.

Do you see the filing cabinets...they are actually organized LOL...For anyone who knows me that will be a shocker ,cause I ain't an organizer by nature....

I love the view from my new desk....

It may not be fancy, but I am thankful for the little space I have to devote to school...it really helped out this morning with my attitude.

Okay, I had to throw this one in...THIS is what happens when you fall asleep at my house...

Have a Blessed Day!

It's Rainin' Babies!

Thought I'd post a few pictures from Shanna's baby shower. Little Mattie Jo Oakes is due in late July and we can't wait to hold her and spoil her...the last three Davis babies have been boys!
I thought Cassie did a super job on the diaper cake (and the real cake too!)

Lillie Anna getting tickled during the bottle drinking game!

Olivia and Chloe (Partners in Crime) going head to head...

Olivia is victorious!

Shanna and Judy...isn't Shanna so pretty! She's definitely got that "glow" about her!

Last but not least...Tyler checking to see if Nannie swept anything under the rug.
