Camera Clean-Up

Erased my memory card and here are some residual pictures that had not been put on the computer.
We are just about done with our bathroom remodel and this is the box the new toilet came in. And in this house, you don't just throw a big ole' box like this away...you make a box house. The kids played with this all day, literally. Jack got his tools out and went to work. I wish I had gotten a picture of all three kids and the puppy inside. I'm sure it would break some fire code!
You simply can not trust anyone with a camera around this place! A rare picture of an even rarer event...me...napping.

Lillie ran up the other day and handed me these...I was impressed. I wrote down what they were on the cards... I thought she did a great job with Sacagawea and Pomp (above) Makin' salt dough indian bead necklaces. We are finished with Lewis and Clark and will move onto the Alamo and Davy Crockett.
It's a doughy job but someone's got to do it...
Made some doughnuts I can actually eat on this crazy diet!
Believe it or not, Josie has actually grown. Some great pics of Chloe...

She chooses to dress herself this way...
Have a blessed day!

Further Proof That My Kids Are Crazy...

This is another post where I needed to get some pics off the camera. I'll warn you, some are normal, others strange, but all remind me how grateful I am for my family...
Singin' a duet with Sissy...

Chloe's hair after Lillie dumped a half a bottle of baby oil onto it... Very curly and very pretty, though a little greasy:)
Makin' Pizza...

Yes...that is my laundry room packed to the nines...just keepin' it real for you...
Lillie in time-out or "The end of the world" as she'd call it...This was not the intended use of this pop-open hamper, but, oh well...whatever pops your clutch!
Have a great day, ya'll!

Confessions of a CO-OP Hijacker...

Yes, it's true...I have been known in the past to crash Co-op get togethers. My sister has a great little group she's involved in and I wish they all lived closer to me! We don't have a group we work with currently, so I am very glad that my sis always invites me to their activities. Thursday she was teaching an art class so we tagged along. First, I must give my sister props. Look, so what if Martha Stewarts house is perfectly neat and decorated...she's got a maid! My sister, she has a husband, five girls and one brain cell (she knows this is true) and works miracles. She is sooooo very clever, creative and crafty. Nope, Martha ain't got nothin' on my sister. Okay, now that I've kissed up, I'll get on with the post.
Well, here's the pictures of the class. Nothing shows the true nature of homeschool mothers than how they react to a long table full of paint and preschoolers sitting around it, poised and ready to "create". You can feel the tension in the air. The nails bitten to the quick...the cat like reflexes. It was very fun and all the kids seemed to really enjoy the time together and more importantly the church didn't get a free paint job!
This is Jackson...international man of multi-tasking. Notice the stamp in one hand, the brush in the other. This man is a PROFESSIONAL. However he does not grasp the concept of moderation when it comes to painting. He'll pour a whole bunch of paint on the plate, then gob his brush full of it and just slap it on. He builds on it until it looks much like a topographic map with hills of paint all around.

It may look like he's giving me pointers here...but he isn't. I can paint just as good (not much better) as any three year-old, thank-you very much. Not bragging or anything, but I've been known to make some pretty good lookin' fingerpaintings in my life...
This is my darling Lillie who did a very nice job sitting still and listening to her aunt Leila teach about pointillism. Baby Lauren and the FABULOUS Hair!!!!!!!!!! Chloe trying to plan out what paint she's gonna knock off the table first...

You Know It's Gonna Be One of Those Days When...

Your three year old son, who seemed to have potty training licked for good, comes running up to you and says "Mommy! I peed in your washing machine!" ...and he's proud of it!. Now, although I'm sure this will be very amusing down the road when I'm trying to weed out girlfriends, some things minorly bothered me aside from the obvious that the kid is marking his territory on my major appliances.
1. It wasn't the washing machine...that would have been better. It was actually the dryer that had a batch of clean, dry (well, were dry) clothes. Man! At least I could have run a cycle in the washing machine and be done with it...not biggie! But NOOOOOOO, my little overachiever goes all the way!
2. He doesn't know the differences between a washing machine and a dryer (Oh, Lord, where have I failed!!!!!!!!)
3. He thought it was a GOOD idea and one that I would be proud of him for.
Oh well, let's just pray this is not a repeat performance thing...

It's Black Friday...

And I'm not camped out in front of the Wal-Mart! I was however up at like 6 am shopping on CurrClick, cause they're having a huge sale and giving away 28 free items. Whooo-hoooo! So, I'm in my pj's with a big ole' cup of coffee which is much better than dukeing it out in the toy isle of Wal-Mart or watching grown adults fight over a Barbie that's a whole $3 cheaper than it will be in a couple of hours. Some people will do anything for a bargain...

Well, yesterday was Thanksgiving and the weather was perfect. So, since we were not doing our dinners until today and Saturday, we decided to rid our yard of leaves, which, out here is next to impossible. You would not believe how many leaves we have, and I am not exagerating. This little neighborhood is locally notorious for having massive amounts of leaves, something the realtor failed to mention when he sold us the place. We finally got smart and bought a leaf blower which makes the work alot easier, plus you can chase the kids around with it and it makes em' squeal. I was glad Chloe was napping cause we might have lost her in the piles they were so tall. We did lose our rake. The kids loved playing in the leaves and they weren't the only ones...

Here's some more pics of our forray in the foliage...

We drug the old tree out from under the house and braved the closet for our decorations. Our tree is totally break proof , though I'm sure if it can be done, Jack will do it. My ornaments are shatter-proof and most of them fabric or felt and we've got it decked out in ribbons and white poinsettias and little wicker baskets with berries and leaves. We made some gingerbread men in overalls last year. I really like it, it's red , white and green and I think very festive. We made some spice ornaments but I can't find them. I just saw them last week! My house is like some sort of black hole, I'm convinced of it! The kids had a ball but hung all the decorations in one place, so I had to keep on em' to be diverse. Jack kept rearranging and just couldn't decide if it was all right or not.

The kids can't seem to stay out of my knitting stuff...

To end our unit, we read "Squanto's Journey" and made Squanto Dirt Cups. They looked pretty carny, but it served the purpose of illustrating how the Pilgrims planted their corn. We crumbled up Oreos then put chocolate pudding over that and then the kids "planted" some candy corn and a Swedish fish. See, I told you it looked carny...

And here's my budding artist, who, up until about 2 months ago, I was not aware could even draw, much less it make sense...Hope all my US friends had a super Thanksgiving and hope my blog buddies from the Far North had a great day! Blessings, Della
